Summer payments are due and payable: July 1st – September 15th without interest/penalty. On 9/16/25, 1% is added to the balance and is added each month at the 1st of the month thereafter.

The Treasurer collects taxes every Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 4:00 pm – excluding federal holidays.

Extended Summer Office Hours for tax payments on 9/15 are 9am – 5pm

*Make sure checks are payable to Silver Creek Township; are written for the exact amount of your tax bill; are signed and have the current date (no post dated checks).
*Include the top portion of your tax bill to verify your parcel# (also on check)
*Post-dated or unsigned checks, will not be deposited and will be returned.

Taxpayers may defer their summer property tax until 2/14 IF they meet the following criteria:
NOTE: A deferment of summer taxes allows the summer taxes to be paid on or before February 14 without any additional penalty and interest.
For a change in owner:
Ownership is changed based upon the deed received at the Cass County Register of Deeds office.
